Wine Tasting

Working in the corporate office at Firebirds sometimes has its perks.  Our resident wine expert, Gerald Pusinelli along with Executive Chef Steve Sturm set the stage for an enjoyable afternoon of wine tasting for our home office team. Gerald gave us the rundown on what sets some of these wines apart.Several bottles were brought in from around the world including The Seeker, Firebirds current wine feature.  The home office team was quite excited about The Seeker Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 which is from Chile.  The grapes are hand-picked and selected in Chile’s Colchagua and Maip Valleys.  The 17 year old vineyards are planted in clay and alluvial soils.  A dry climate and proximity to the Andes produce wide temperature swings, maintaining the grapes’ acidity levels while encouraging full flavor ripening.The Seeker Chardonnay 2010 grapes are from the cool-climate growing regions of California, from the Central Coast to the Delta Region of the Sacramento River.  The variety of vineyards and growing areas provide a tapestry of flavor, together creating a balanced, complex and harmonious wine.  The blend is produced in a family-owned winery with state-of-art solar and water conservation technology.  The grapes are harvested during the cooler night and morning hours to highlight the crisp citrus flavor.  Enjoy The Seeker Wines now for a limited time.  Great Wine Knows No Borders!

Sante Fe Pasta

Welcome to the Firebirds Food Network!  Tune in and watch Chef Steve demonstrate how to make Sante Fe Pasta, available for a limited time on our Spring Feature Card.  Come in and enjoy it with us, or maybe dad can put on a Chef’s hat at home (Mother’s Day is THIS SUNDAY) and whip up some for his lovely wife.  Sauteed shrimp and scallops are tossed with chorizo, diced tomatoes and fettuccine in a chardonnay cream sauce.  Enjoy a little love pasta this weekend!

GO, Team Chadds Ford, GO!

Team Chadds Ford cheered each other on at their 1st ever FISH!  meeting last week.The trainers held a “pep rally” to get everyone fired up.  Nothing gets people fired up like a good old fashioned relay race!  How quickly can you get dressed in FOH and BOH attire, roll up silverware, make a turkey club and scoop butter?Our awesome Chadds Ford employees raced to the finish and won some great prizes, including Phillies tickets and 2 very cool outdoor chairs with matching umbrellas, all while learning the 4 principles of the FISH! Philosophy.  Congratulations to our newest certified trainers Mallery, Jess, Sam, Memo and Geoff!  GO Team Chadds Ford GO!

Scenes from The City of Brotherly LOVE!

Since opening our doors on April 2, 2012, a mere three weeks ago, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Collegeville, PA has been setting records one day at a time!  At Firebirds we take pride in our food, but most importantly our awesome employees.  Jason Kording and his team in Collegeville are committed to the growth and development of Firebirds, which is one of the most important ingredients for Firebirds success.  Take a look at some of the committed employees in Collegeville who are working hard to bring you the service and hospitatility that comes along with the “Firebirds” name!

  • Lizzy Lopez has a smile that lights up a room. Her positive “can do” attitude is infectious.  She seems to be waiting in every corner with a hand up in the air waiting to “High Five” anyone that may need a quick pick me up
  • Eric Aranda is our ALL STAR Guest Assistant.  He receives guest compliments daily on his natural hospitality and polite demeanor.  He never stops moving with a sense of urgency and is a natural people pleaser.
  • Michelle Vo.. At 4 feet 8 inches tall, Michelle is a GIANT when it comes to her heart.  She has taken on the role of matriarch within the new Collegeville restaurant.   She is consistently coaching  the less experienced staff offering advice and wisdom.  We are lucky to have her at our 21st location!

Spotlight on Firebirds Awesome Employees

At Firebirds, we think that we have the best employees in the restaurant industry.  Our awesome employees are accomplishing great things from the East Coast to the West.  Nick Hodges from Raleigh, NC is now a Certified Butcher!  Our Richmond, VA Belvedere employees are kicking it up notch with over 11 new Certified Trainers and one new “Red Hat!”  Trey Witherow takes pride in his new “Red Hat!”
