Steven Sturm
Mr. Sturm joined Firebirds as the Executive Chef in August 2000 and was instrumental in the development and evolution of the Firebirds menu, featuring wood grilled specialties with a southwest flair. Firebirds unique blend of seasonings, spices and sauces are designed to make each dish flavorful from beginning to end. By balancing sweet, sour, salty and spicy and pairing those sensations with different colors and textures, every bite is designed to elicit another. By grilling over an open flame we enhance the flavor of our food. Fire sears in the juices of the meat, while the aroma of hickory, oak and mesquite mingles with our seasonings and infuses the senses.
Chef Sturm's culinary bakground includes Executive Chef and equity partner in Seven Sisters, featuring New South Cuisine, located in Beauford, GA (June 1999 to August 2000); Executive Chef at A1A Ale Works in St. Augustine, Florida, featuring New World Cuisine, fresh seafood and an open air kitchen (August 1998 to May 1999); Corporate Chef at The Loop Restaurants where he developed new menu items that were implemented at 14 different locations (July 1996 to August 1998) and Executive Sous Chef at Ragtime Tavern (September 1992 to July 1996). Chef Sturm trained at the St. Augustine Culinary Arts School, with further development at FCCJ culinary arts program.
